The hand-cut fluted graters from BICK Art Supplies are made in Italy. The ends with which you grate have hand-cut teeth. The graters are made of locally hardened carbon steel. After the teeth are cut, the carbon steel of the rasp is hardened at the ends. These graters can be used for stone types that have a hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale. Carrara Bianco is a stone with Mohs hardness 4. Very suitable for soapstone, alabaster and serpentine types.
For a long life, it is advisable not to throw the graters on top of each other. They are all hard and will dull each other if treated incorrectly. Prevent this quality tool from rusting, which also causes it to lose its sharpness. After use, clean thoroughly with a brass brush and spray with a non-greasy preservative (e.g. WD40). Do not use a wire brush, this will also dull your graters faster!
