Apply the adhesive with a soft brush to the surface to be gilded. Depending on the surface, it takes 10 to 45 minutes for the adhesive to dry sufficiently. Sprinkle or place the gold leaf on the glued surface. Press lightly with a cotton cloth. Excess gold leaf can be removed with a slightly harder brush. Protect the gilded surface with shellac varnish.
